We are seeking a skilled Production and Quality Control Manager to join our team and oversee the production process while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Job Summary : As the Production and Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the production operations of our framing and mirror manufacturing business. You will oversee the entire production process from raw materials procurement to the manufacturing planning and scheduling, to the quality control and packing of the finished products. In your role, you shall be responsible for ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Additionally, you will implement and maintain robust quality control measures to uphold our reputation for excellence in craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities: Production Management : - Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the production floor. - Coordinate procurement of required components to ensure timely availability of raw materials and supplies. - Develop production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets. - Monitoring and planning all CNC and Laser welding to ensure the two operations have no overlap - Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and minimize waste. - Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to improve efficiency and productivity. - OH & S compliance - ensuring all occupational health and safety requirements are complied with. - Ensuring all job deadlines are met - Managing all factory staff and setting up and monitoring all KPI's on an ongoing basis Quality Control : - Establish and enforce quality control standards for all stages of production. - Establish a culture of excellence in the factory, ensuring our product quality standards are kept and maintained - Checking all printing before it is mounted to ensure there are no defects - Checking all mirrors prior to production to prevent defective mirrors being framed. - Conduct regular inspections of materials arriving for jobs, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards. - Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive measures. - Train production staff on quality control procedures and standards. - Collaborate with the sales and design teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement design improvements. Team Leadership : - Lead, motivate, and mentor production staff to achieve performance targets and foster a culture of excellence. - Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. - Identify training needs and organize relevant training sessions to enhance the skills of production staff. - Foster a safe and inclusive work environment where teamwork and collaboration thrive. Continuous Improvement : - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. - Gather and analyse production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions, and to monitor that production costs are in line with job expectations. - Encourage innovation and creativity among team members to develop new techniques and processes. - Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to framing and mirror manufacturing. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in commerce, Manufacturing Management, or a related field. Proven experience (5 years) in production management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams. Proficiency in project management and process improvement methodologies. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
