The Position Provide leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice that reflects the McGrath Model of Care. Provide specialised breast care, information, education and support to clients relating to breast cancer in accordance with evidence based clinical practice guidelines. Actively participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team and relevant community service providers to coordinate the delivery of client-oriented, specialised support services across the care continuum, to clients and their families. Provide expert clinical advice and clinical leadership on evidence-based breast care services to nursing staff, allied health and other members of the multidisciplinary team or to health care providers a woman with breast cancer may come into contact with. Meet operational requirements of the McGrath Foundation agreed to with SJGBH. Acts as a leader in branding and awareness of the role and building of internal and external relationships Promotes adherence to the Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia and the Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia. The CNS MCCN is funded by the McGrath Foundation. The Foundation will supply the nurse with sufficient information and material about the Foundation to enable the CNS MCCN to promote the objectives and interests of the Foundation. The Foundation will provide the nurse with appropriate notice of any promotional activities that they may be required to attend. Ensure specific data required by the Foundation is added to the relevant McGrath Foundation controlled database on a regular and timely basis. Communicate appropriate information to senior staff regarding patient and service issues. Ensure documentation reflects appropriate standards and meets legal requirements. Ensure relationships with all customers are conducive to a harmonious working environment, and work to resolve conflicts as they arise. Respond appropriately to customer feedback and complaints, seeking assistance to resolve issues as required. Accept all patient and carer feedback and provide recommendations for improvements/solutions where needed Contribute to planning, problem solving and management of change in the service to improve the quality of services provided. Actively support the service quality plan and reporting, initiating and following through on quality projects Contribute to the achievement of Service and Divisional operational objectives. Attend and actively participate in McGrath Foundation education and information sharing events. You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and bring a minimum of five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including at least three years of recent experience in oncology, palliative care, or a cancer-specific nursing stream. You will have completed, or be working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications in breast care nursing and demonstrate advanced practice experience in the management of women with breast cancer. Your commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care will be evident, along with your ability to provide compassionate and effective counselling and psychological support. You will be a collaborative team player, with proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to continuity of care. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities, will enable you to build meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues alike.
