We are seeking a skilled and experienced Stonemason to join our team. Duties and responsibilities: Reviewing site instructions, technical drawings, and assignment briefs provided through the recruitment agency to understand project requirements, materials, and installation methods for each placement. Working on various construction sites as deployed by the employer, adapting to different builders, supervisors, and project environments across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Setting up and dismantling temporary access systems such as scaffolding where required, while strictly following site safety procedures and compliance standards. Preparing foundations by applying moisture-resistant treatments and laying mortar beds to ensure a stable base for brick, block, or stone installation. Carrying out masonry placement tasks including laying bricks, blocks, or stone units in specified patterns while maintaining consistency with project specifications. Ensuring structural accuracy by regularly checking alignment, levels, and spacing of masonry work using appropriate measuring and leveling tools. Cutting, shaping, and finishing masonry materials using both hand tools and machinery to achieve required dimensions and accommodate irregular site conditions. Cleaning and finishing joints by removing excess mortar and ensuring completed sections meet quality standards set by site supervisors or project managers. Undertaking repair, restoration, and maintenance tasks on existing masonry structures as allocated through assigned contracts or labour hire engagements. Collaborating with site teams, forepersons, and other trades while adhering to workplace health and safety requirements and reporting progress through the recruitment provider's reporting processes. Qualifications and Requirement: Relevant qualification. At least 2-3 years' previous experiences in similar role. Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site instructions accurately. Proficiency in using masonry tools and equipment.
