Make a real difference to the local community Part-Time, Fixed Term Access to Salary Packaging Generous Annual Leave The Role The Culture Care Connect (CCC) Suicide Prevention Network Coordinator will actively resource Wathaurong to bring together key streams of suicide prevention planning, coordination, and activity across Wathaurong catchment. The program will include raising awareness, early intervention and strengthening our responses to vulnerable community members at risk of suicide. The program aims to: • Improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and suicide prevention outcomes • Build evidence and understanding of “best practice” approaches through working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experts and those with lived experience • Support a culturally appropriate mental health workforce within Wathaurong. • Resource early intervention measures that contribute to improve social and emotional wellbeing outcomes. About You Essential Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. HLT40113- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent training and/or experience in Mental Health. Demonstrated experience in the provision of safe and appropriate culturally centred practices for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a health, social, or drug and alcohol service delivery environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks. Ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. Demonstrated experience in office administration tasks. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Commitment to personal and professional development including the sharing of knowledge, information and skills with work colleagues. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. Demonstrated understanding of social, physical, economical, and cultural strengths and challenges affecting Aboriginal communities and their ability to access adequate and quality services. Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture. Desirable Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing and or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. *A police check, Working with Children Check, Vaccination Certificate and current Driver Licence are required for all positions.
