Support Worker (High Emotional Intelligence) – Weekday, Weekend & Overnight Shifts We are seeking a compassionate, emotionally intelligent Support Worker to provide consistent, person-centred support to a participant in a respectful and engaging environment. This role is ideal for someone who is naturally intuitive, calm under pressure, and able to build genuine rapport while maintaining professional boundaries. About the Role You will be supporting an individual with day-to-day living, emotional regulation, and community participation. The role requires someone who can read situations well, respond thoughtfully, and adapt their approach based on the participant’s needs. Key Responsibilities Provide person-centred support tailored to the participant’s preferences and routines Support emotional regulation with patience and understanding Assist with daily living tasks (personal care, household tasks, meal prep if required) Facilitate community access and social engagement Maintain clear, accurate progress notes and communication Work collaboratively with family and/or care teams Be available for inactive overnight (sleepover) shifts when required About You High emotional intelligence – able to read situations, pick up on subtle cues, and respond appropriately Calm, grounded, and not easily reactive Reliable and consistent – someone the participant can feel safe and comfortable with Strong communication skills and professional boundaries Ability to balance empathy with structure and routine Previous experience in support work or similar (preferred but not essential for the right person) Requirements Current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Clearance) or willingness to obtain Relevant certifications (e.g. First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, Medication Assistance) highly regarded Valid driver’s licence Availability Must be available for weekday and weekend shifts Availability for inactive overnight (sleepover) shifts is highly desirable Flexibility with hours is highly valued (please outline your availability in your application) What We Offer Consistent and ongoing shifts Supportive and respectful working environment Opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term working relationship Competitive pay based on experience and shift types Job Type: Casual Pay: $30.00 – $70.00 per hour Work Location: In person
