Job description Attorney-General's Department Administrative Officer 5 - Remuneration Package Range $107,576 - $112,834 (including salary $90,946 - $95,468) Consumer Affairs Darwin, Northern Territory One fixed full time vacancy available to 11/12/2026 The Organisation Northern Territory Consumer Affairs regulates business conduct and protects consumer interests by: promoting the rights and responsibilities of consumers and traders, tenants and landlords educating consumers, traders and industry on their rights and responsibilities and changes to the law providing an independent, fair and accessible conciliation service to help resolve disputes between consumers and traders ensuring compliance with the legislation we administer and undertaking enforcement action when necessary. We administer several pieces of legislation, including the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Act 1990 and the Residential Tenancies Act 1999 . We are a co-regulator of the Australian Consumer Law. Other legislation we are responsible for is listed here: https://consumeraffairs.nt.gov.au/legislation The Compliance Officer: This position works in a small team under the supervision of the Manager Compliance and Investigations to educate traders and take enforcement action, consistent with our Regulatory practice framework . This can include: investigating complaints and conducting audits reviewing and analysing information to determine whether there has been a breach drafting infringement notices and/or compiling evidence of offences administering the MyFuel NT scheme, including registration of outlets/users and doing compliance checks conducting statutory conciliations providing training and education to businesses, industry or other organisations compiling statistics or data to inform priorities, or for reporting purposes What the Organisation is looking for We are looking for a motivated individual who can work with legislation, has audit/investigations experience, and great analytical and communication skills to educate and resolve disputes.
