Join Toll Group as a Category Manager (Road and Rail) – Drive Strategic Procurement Excellence. This role can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney. This role is responsible for identifying sourcing opportunities and leading the development and delivery of category strategies across nominated portfolios. Working in line with company, procurement, and supply base management frameworks, you will drive sourcing outcomes that support both the strategic and operational objectives of the broader Procurement Services team. The role plays a key part in delivering value and consistency across the business, aligned with the Group’s One Toll strategy. We are seeking a dynamic Procurement Category Manager to lead the development and execution of category plans across key products and services. In this role, you’ll shape procurement strategies aligned with our Care, Compete, and Grow objectives, manage supplier relationships, and drive innovation and savings across your portfolio. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, enhance processes, and deliver impactful commercial outcomes. As the Procurement Category Manager , you will, Drive category performance by leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and contract negotiations. Collaborate with senior leaders to align procurement strategies with business priorities and commitments. Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, ensuring transparency, timely delivery, and achievement of savings targets. Oversee supplier engagement across projects, promoting continuous improvement in purchasing and spend efficiency. Foster strong internal and external relationships to enhance communication, collaboration, and project outcomes. Support administrative tasks and contribute to broader procurement initiatives as needed. About you To be successful in this role, you will need: Extensive experience (10 years) in strategic sourcing, commercial management, and category-level negotiations, with strong knowledge of legal, contractual, supplier, and sales processes. Proven capability in leading complex commercial negotiations to maximise value, manage risk appropriately, and resolve disputes with strategic suppliers. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively with suppliers, senior executives, and business units on scope, timing, cost, and commercial outcomes. Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to develop data-driven insights, prepare meaningful reports, and document and present clear options and recommendations for supplier selection. Demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management and collaboration, building productive internal and external relationships and contributing positively to organisational culture aligned with the One Toll vision. Relevant tertiary qualification and professional credibility, including an undergraduate degree and desirable membership of recognised professional associations (e.g. CIPS) . What moves you?
