The Operations Group is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of train and coach services across regional Victoria and increasingly peri urban Melbourne. About The Role Working closely with V/Line management, the Authorised Officer - Team Leader helps ensure customers experience a safe and seamless journey, supports business improvement initiatives, and oversees their implementation to enhance customer service and meet performance targets. Leadership, supervision, and support of Authorised Officers. Perform AO duties, support in AO management system Training and mentoring staff. Provide on the ground leadership during incidents and critical events and reporting offences under the Victorian Transport Act and Regulations. In addition to the duties outlined, the Team Leader may be required to undertake other tasks aligned with their classification, skills, and capabilities. Key accountabilities include: Lead and coordinate daily deployment of Authorised Officers across the network. Oversee distribution of operational equipment and PPE to ensure safe duty performance. Assist with and conduct investigations and incident debriefs. Produce timely reports on security and anti social behaviour incidents for internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Transport. Monitor and review AO deployment strategies to meet operational needs. Conduct ad hoc field audits of operational equipment. Address performance, conduct concerns, and complaints as required. Promote a strong safety culture aligned with the OHS Act 2004. Foster a respectful, inclusive, and professional team culture. Location & Travel Considerations Southern Cross, Warragul, Geelong, Deer Park, Bendigo Team leaders will be required to start/finish shifts at various locations within their designated zone when required. About You As an Accredited AO , Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Accredited as a Public Transport Authorised Officer Comprehensive knowledge of the Transport Act and Regulations Strong internal and external stakeholder communication skills Certificate III in Customer Service and Compliance High level communication and conflict resolution skills First Aid - Level 2 Experience in critical incident leadership Ability to work rotating shifts across 7 days, including weekends and public holidays If your skills or experience don’t exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
