About the Position: The Chef plays a central role in delivering high-quality Greek dishes at Meat & Greek Gyros Bar, preparing authentic gyros, souvlaki, mezze, and grilled meats while maintaining consistency, efficiency, and food safety standards in our busy kitchen. This position is essential to upholding our reputation for fresh, flavourful Greek cuisine and ensuring smooth service during peak periods in our welcoming restaurant setting. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Greek dishes, including gyros (chicken, lamb, beef), souvlaki, skewers, soutzoukakia, loukaniko, and mezze items such as dips, saganaki, dolmades, and zucchini fritters. Grill and season meats to perfection, assemble wraps, plates, and platters with fresh vegetables, tzatziki, fries, and accompaniments. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, portion control, and hygiene in line with health regulations. Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment to meet service demands for both dine-in and takeaway orders. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and minimise waste. Monitor stock levels and assist with basic kitchen organisation and cleaning. Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate IV in Kitchen Management. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef. Strong technical skills in Greek/Mediterranean cuisine, grilling, food preparation, and kitchen management; ability to work under pressure in a busy environment; excellent teamwork, communication, and time-management skills; passion for authentic Greek flavours and commitment to food safety and quality.
