About the role Mater is seeking a strategic and operational Senior Manager Medical Workforce Optimisation – MHB to optimise our medical workforce model and support high quality, sustainable clinical service delivery. Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing In this senior role, you will lead workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, and governance across all medical specialties, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations. You’ll partner closely with Clinical Directors, HR, Finance and Executive stakeholders to align workforce strategy with service demand and Department of Health requirements. Drive workforce planning, optimisation and service-aligned staffing models Oversee rostering, leave, locums, overtime and deployment Lead end to end medical workforce operations (assisting with recruitment, credentialing, compliance) Provide strategic advice to improve performance, efficiency and financial outcomes Ensure governance, reporting and industrial relations compliance Build strong relationships across clinical, operational and external partners About you You are a highly credible leader with strong experience in hospital medical workforce or clinical operations. You thrive in complex environments, can confidently influence senior stakeholders and bring a pragmatic approach to decision making. You will also bring: 5 years experience in medical workforce or hospital operations Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict management skills Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement capability Comfortable working in fast paced, complex environments Why join us?
