Hillgrove Resources (ASX:HGO) is a growing ASX-listed Australian copper producer with its heart in South Australia. Hillgrove has operated since 2005 and completed open-pit mining at Kanmantoo in 2020. In 2023 we commenced development of our underground mine and in 2024 completed our transition to underground copper production. About the Role Reporting to the Mine Supervisors, Chargehands at Kanmantoo are a vital part of underground operations, planning and conducting charge up duties in line with blasting plans. Chargehands are responsible for safe set up, transport, handling and detonation of explosive materials. You will contribute to blasting activities while ensuring a safe environment for all team members. This position is Wednesday-Tuesday 7 /7 roster where the rotation is 7-day shifts, 7 days off, 7-night shifts, 7 days off. This is a residential role where you get the mining career with the benefit of being home at night. Based in the Adelaide Hills, Kanmantoo offers a great local lifestyle with the convenience of being only 55mins from the Adelaide CBD, 25mins from Mount Barker and 30mins from Murray Bridge. Key Responsibilities Conduct all duties related to charging across the underground mining operation Coordinate charging activities in-line with blasting plans Transport, store and handle explosives in line with regulations and site-specific safety procedures Report accurately on blasting activities and ensure safe detonation practices Always remain compliant with explosives legislation and regulations Drive and operate charging vehicles About you Are an experienced underground operator with development and production charging experience. Are safety focused with a high level of responsibility Have high attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work independently Maintain high housekeeping, safety and operational standards. Follow all site safety, explosives, fitness for work and environmental requirements. To be eligible for this role, you will need Current driver’s license Current SA Blasters License or current interstate Shotfirers License Experience conducting charging activities in an underground mining environment Experience operating charging and detonation equipment Highly regarded 3 years’ experience in a similar role Experience using emulsion explosives Experience using electronic detonation systems Why Hillgrove?
