LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE As a Contract Administrator, you’ll be embedded within BAI’s project team, providing day‑to‑day commercial and contract administration support across the delivery phase of a major transit infrastructure programme. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, this role plays a critical part in maintaining the project’s commercial position — managing correspondence, tracking obligations and deadlines, administering variations, and supporting contractual reporting and governance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, detail, and being at the centre of complex project activity while contributing to infrastructure that supports communities at scale. Key Responsibilities: Provide contract administration support across subcontract and head contract documentation Prepare, issue, track, and maintain formal contractual correspondence in line with contractual timeframes Maintain correspondence, variations, and obligations registers to an audit-ready standard Track contractual milestones, notice periods, review windows, and deliverables Administer variations and change events, ensuring accurate recording and visibility of change exposure Support preparation of contractual summaries, risk briefings, and monthly project reporting Assist with contractual claims and time-related submissions through supporting documentation Coordinate commercial documentation within project systems in line with document control protocols Attend and minute commercial interface meetings, preparing accurate records for review LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You bring experience working in a commercial or contract administration role within large-scale infrastructure, construction, utilities, or complex delivery environments. You’re comfortable navigating contracts, correspondence, and registers, and you understand the importance of accuracy, timeliness, and commercial integrity. Your background includes hands-on exposure to subcontract and head contract administration, with a sound understanding of construction and infrastructure contract frameworks, including change, payment mechanisms, and formal notice requirements. You’re confident managing contractual correspondence, maintaining variation and obligation registers, and supporting reporting and governance processes. Your analytical mindset, attention to detail, and clear written communication allow you to track obligations and deadlines with confidence and precision. You’re degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Construction Management, Commerce, Business, or Law (or bring equivalent practical experience), with several years’ experience supporting senior commercial or contract managers on complex projects. Above all, you’re collaborative, organised, and proactive — someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and thrives in a project‑based environment.
