LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE This is a pivotal role supporting the Head of Financial Reporting & Tax, with responsibility for delivering high-quality financial reporting, tax compliance and technical accounting outcomes across the Australian Group. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of reporting at BAI, including ESG disclosures, new accounting standards implementation and system transformation. Working closely with senior stakeholders and external auditors, you’ll bring insight, rigour and continuous improvement to core finance processes. From statutory reporting and audit delivery through to treasury oversight and M&A support, this role offers variety, visibility and the opportunity to influence how finance operates in a complex, evolving environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead preparation and review of consolidated statutory financial statements in line with AIFRS Own audit planning, deliverables and stakeholder management with external auditors Drive implementation of new accounting standards, including ESG and climate reporting Oversee consolidation processes, including top-side journals and reporting outputs Contribute to M&A, restructures and technical accounting assessments Support treasury reporting, compliance and cash flow insights Lead lease accounting processes and system implementation Manage tax reporting deliverables including FBT, disclosures and returns Develop and improve reporting templates, systems and automation initiatives Prepare inputs for Board, ELT and Audit & Risk Committee reporting LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You’re a technically strong finance professional who enjoys working in complex environments and bringing clarity to financial reporting and compliance. You combine strong accounting expertise with the ability to influence, collaborate and continuously improve processes. Technical Skills & Experience: Deep experience in statutory consolidation and group reporting Strong working knowledge of AIFRS/IFRS and technical accounting interpretation Proven track record delivering month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting Experience preparing financial statements and managing audit processes Exposure to fixed asset valuation, lease accounting and treasury reporting Familiarity with financial systems (SAP or similar ERP environments) Understanding of tax reporting requirements and associated disclosures Experience supporting transactions, restructures or complex accounting scenarios Background: CA or CPA qualified Extensive experience in financial reporting environments (Big 4 or large corporate preferred) Ability to operate autonomously while partnering effectively with senior stakeholders BENEFITS & CULTURE At BAI, we value diversity and welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse communities, people with disability, and LGBTQIA individuals.
