We are currently seeking a driven Project or Senior Project Engineer with experience in HDD-related projects. This is a project-based role, with an initial period working from our Perth or Brisbane office to support project planning. Once this phase is complete, the successful candidate will mobilise to the project site on the operations roster pattern (Victoria or Tasmania). Your role will include: Develop and/or validate HDD bore path profiles to suit geotechnical conditions, environmental constraints and project specifications. Create and oversee the drilling fluid program (selection, volume estimation and real-time pressure monitoring) to support borehole stability, cuttings transport and environmental compliance. Maintain accurate drill and mud logs throughout operations, capturing key parameters, anomalies and lessons learned for reporting and analysis. Manage pilot hole drilling support, including steering plan development and interpretation of downhole survey data to ensure compliance with design tolerances. Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders (drill crew, subcontractors, suppliers and client reps) to support SIMOP requirements (where applicable) and ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental controls. Perform torque and drag simulations for drilling/reaming operations to confirm rig set-up, equipment suitability and execution methodology. Coordinate technical queries (TQs), RFIs, drawings/as-builts and close-out documentation, and communicate potential time/cost impacts to the commercial team. About You? The successful applicant will have the following qualifications/ experience and capabilities: Bachelor of Engineering Minimum 3 years’ experience, with demonstrated delivery experience on HDD projects (pipeline crossings and/or linear infrastructure). Strong field engineering background supporting HDD execution, including bore path/profile validation, drilling fluids, downhole survey interpretation and installation/pullback fundamentals. Strong planning, documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to manage interfaces between engineering, drilling operations, construction and commercial. A collaborative mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude. Commitment to safety leadership and environmental compliance (including monitoring, reporting and practical controls relevant to HDD works).
