Opportunities have arisen for experienced Production Technicians at various levels to perform a variety of technical maintenance and support activities on a wide range of technical equipment and systems. Your responsibilities will include: Provide a technical expertise on a wide range of relevant technical equipment and systems including efficient fault analysis, testing and fault diagnosis of equipment, system and network faults, and equipment maintenance and support production prototypes and development through to production. Perform designated routine maintenance and repair of technical systems. Install, test, repair and modify electronic equipment following technical manuals or verbal instructions. Perform hand soldering of surface mount components to meet relevant standards. Undertake investigations into a variety of non-standard complex tasks and problems using advanced techniques and extensive knowledge of discipline. Analyse information and systems data to diagnose faults and maintain the performance of systems and equipment in a responsive manner. Provide effective Production or maintenance planning and analysis of technical and facilities equipment using a production ERP or Maintenance Management System (MMS) or equivalent. About you: Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical engineering, etc.) from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the Defence industry) Lower level role - Certificate III or above in Communications or Electronics discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience. Relevant licences as required for working on specific equipment Ability to perform a variety of tasks with a classification of sedentary, light, medium, and/or heavy. Experience in the maintenance and repair of technical systems and equipment, integrated systems, and sub-systems. Previous production or modification experience on electronic or data systems, RF Communications systems, and related equipment Experience in reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications Planning skills of production or maintenance and support programs covering electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment associated with a large and technically complex facility. Experience and knowledge of production or maintenance planning and tracking of scheduled work programs within a quality system. Ability to implement and maintain structured operational maintenance plans to meet maintenance, operational and quality objectives. Ability to manufacture a wide range of interface cabling to an advanced standard utilising various termination methods e.g. soldering, crimping and wire wrapping. Understanding of Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, ICT, Security and Engineering Experience in the effective use of a production ERP sparts and work orders or MMS, and the analysis of maintenance/spares information to determine sparing and other logistics requirements.
