LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE As an Electrical Engineer at BAI Communications, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, future-ready electrical infrastructure that supports Australia’s broadcast and critical communications networks. You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle—from design through to commissioning—working on upgrades to essential assets such as switchboards, distribution systems, and standby power. You’ll also support the integration of renewable energy solutions, helping drive sustainability outcomes across the network. Working closely with engineering and service delivery teams, you’ll apply your technical expertise to solve complex problems, enhance system performance, and ensure network resilience in mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities: Design and specify electrical infrastructure systems supporting broadcast operations Provide engineering support throughout project delivery from concept to commissioning Conduct testing, commissioning and acceptance activities in line with standards Review designs for compliance with Australian standards and operational requirements Support asset lifecycle strategies including maintenance, upgrades, and risk identification Liaise with supply authorities and external stakeholders to deliver projects effectively Investigate network issues and provide technical solutions to field teams Undertake site inspections across facilities and operational environments Contribute to continuous improvement through adoption of new technologies and practices LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You’re a technically capable Electrical Engineer who enjoys working in complex, mission-critical environments and contributing to infrastructure that keeps communities connected. Technical Skills & Experience Site power, backup systems, commissioning, and fault‑finding experience a requirement Degree in Electrical Engineering (aligned with Engineers Australia requirements) Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, including AS/NZS 3000 (Australian working knowledge a must) Hands-on experience across commercial electrical systems such as switchboards, UPS, generators, metering, and protection systems Exposure to standby power systems, renewable energy solutions, and control systems Experience supporting commissioning, testing, and fault-finding activities in live environments Ability to review and interpret electrical designs with a focus on safety and compliance Familiarity with AutoCAD; exposure to PowerCAD or similar design tools is advantageous Broad technical curiosity with the ability to quickly build knowledge across new systems and technologies Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role Additional Requirements Valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset Effective communicator who can collaborate across technical and non-technical teams BENEFITS & CULTURE At BAI, we value diversity and welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse communities, people with disability, and LGBTQIA individuals.
