Role Purpose The Disability and Aged Carer will provide personal, practical and emotional support to aged and disabled clients in line with their individual care needs. The role is responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, household tasks, mobility, companionship and community participation. This position plays an important role in helping clients maintain independence, dignity, safety and wellbeing while ensuring care is delivered respectfully, professionally and in accordance with workplace procedures and individual care plans. Key Responsibilities Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming and hygiene. Support clients with mobility, transfers and daily movement. Help with meal preparation, feeding support and hydration. Provide companionship and emotional support. Assist with domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry and tidying. Accompany clients to appointments, outings and community activities. Support clients with shopping, errands and daily routines. Follow individual care plans and workplace procedures. Monitor client wellbeing and report any changes or concerns. Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment. Encourage independence, dignity and client choice. Communicate respectfully with clients, families and care team members. Maintain accurate care notes and records. Follow infection control, manual handling and safety requirements. Support social and recreational participation where required. What We Are Looking For Minimum one year of experience in aged care, disability support, personal care or a similar care role. Relevant qualification such as Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, Community Services or an equivalent qualification. A compassionate, patient and respectful approach to supporting elderly people and individuals with disability. Good communication skills and the ability to follow care plans, instructions and workplace procedures. Current or willingness to obtain required checks and certificates, including Police Check, First Aid, CPR and NDIS Worker Screening Check where applicable.
