A 2026 opportunity has become available for a dedicated permanent part-time assistant educator to join our Lawnton Kindergarten team. The role is part-time: 3 days per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during school terms. About Lawnton Kindergarten Lawnton Kindergarten is a not-for-profit, double unit sessional community kindergarten, affiliated with Lady Gowrie Qld and has a reputation in the community for the high-quality programs delivered to children 3-5 years of age. We are rated ‘Exceeding’ in the seven quality areas of the National Quality Standards. The kindergarten has a friendly, professional and collaborative working environment, with experienced teachers and supportive staff who are committed to providing a safe, sensitive, supportive and encouraging early educational experience of the highest quality. We are managed and supported each year by a parent management committee, and all profits are rolled back into the Kindy for the benefit of the children and families. About the Role The successful Assistant Educator will: Support a high-quality, child-led kindergarten program to children aged 3-5 years, using the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines and Early Years Learning Framework. Hold a minimum of a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services. Build positive relationships with families, children, co-workers, committee members and our community. Communicate effectively and demonstrate strong literacy skills, including writing and posting stories to families via Storypark. Uses technology confidently or be willing to learn with training. Work closely with the teacher, following instructions and collaborating as part of a team. Uphold safe standards and self-manage tasks to meet timetable deadlines. Participate in special kindy events within the community, occasionally outside of regular hours. Work Hours Alternate Wednesdays, plus Thursdays and Fridays, 7:30am – 3pm (Assistant: part-time permanent) Every second Wednesday 8:40 am– 2:45pm (Inclusion Support: regular casual) Required Qualifications Minimum of a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services qualification or equivalent NQF approved qualification that meets Approved Kindergarten Program Provider Assistant Educator Recognition requirements. Current Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) Current First Aid certificates, including CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Current Child Protection, Fire, and WHS training Be willing to undertake a police background check if requested. Have experience in a similar role with Lady Gowrie or C&K Kindergartens (preferred).
