The Role The Mercure Townsville is looking for a dedicated, hardworking and experienced commis chef to join our busy kitchen team. The successful applicant will have the ability to work well under pressure whilst upholding high standards. Having a great work ethic, creativity and a passion for producing quality food, you will be reporting to the Executive Chef. You will also possess the following: Trade qualified Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent three years’ full-time experience. Experience with catering and functions Experience assisting in planning & co-ordinating menus for functions, banquets and special events Al a Carte experience Ability to follow and develop recipes Be self-driven and work as part of a team Previous experience in high-volume, multi-venue operations is advantageous An enthusiastic attitude Effective communication skills Super calm under pressure Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation and Health regulations.
