We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our professional kitchen team. The Role As a Cook at Bhoj at Docklands, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen operations. You will work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare, season and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, rice dishes, breads, and appetisers. Assist in planning menus and estimating food and labour costs. Monitor food preparation and portion control to maintain consistency and quality standards. Store food safely and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Inspect food supplies, ingredients, and finished dishes to ensure freshness and quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with stock control, ordering supplies, and minimising food wastage. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, preparation areas, and cooking equipment. Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and support efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods. Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times. Requirements Qualifications Relevant qualification, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent Experience Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook in an Indian restaurant or similar hospitality environment. Skills Sound knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and food preparation methods. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Good organisational and time-management skills. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Work Rights Must have full working rights in Australia.
