Navy Aviation System Program Office (NASPO) is offering the opportunity to be part of a team that ensures both the mission readiness and airworthiness of the Royal Australian Navy’s MH-60R Seahawk Romeo helicopter fleet and the safety of its aviators and aircraft maintenance staff through the conduct and delivery of RAN MH-60R program technical support services. The current position available is for a MH-60R Avionics-Systems Technical Team Leader; however, suitable applicants from specialist fields better suited to other APS 6 aircraft-related technical roles may be placed on a merit list and drawn upon if further APS 6 positions (not limited to avionics-systems) become available. Successful applicants will use approved processes and data, provided training, and relevant technical domain knowledge, aviation industry and leadership experience to fulfil technical support services within required timeframes through: Performing complex technical assessments and associated tasks, engaging with stakeholders to deliver and exercise appropriate technical delegations. Providing technical knowledge and advice in relation to complex work or difficult issues. Contributing to strategic planning, program and project management. The US Navy (USN) is a partner and significant contributor to RAN MH-60R technical services via Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement. Successful applicants will be required to work with USN counterparts in relation to USN technical information deliverables used in support of technical assessments and other required work outputs. About our Team The primary role of the Technical Engineering Services and Support Unit (TESSU), is the conduct of MH-60R Seahawk Romeo helicopter Military Type Certificate Holder (MTCH) functions and agreed MH-60R CAMO and MAO Technical Support Services. You may also provide ad-hoc technical support to rotary wing design activities and flight trials. The successful applicant will join a diverse team made up of APS, ADF, US Navy and contractors, all driven to ensure both the airworthiness and mission readiness of the RAN’s MH-60R Seahawk Romeo Helicopter fleet and the safety of its aviators and aircraft maintenance staff. This position will suit an aircraft technician, aircraft maintenance engineer or a technician with a compatible technical trade background and a proven ability to perform and achieve complex technical work both individually and via building team capability. Have reasonable experience working under the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASRs) or under similar current or recent domestic and/or international civilian and/or military aviation technical regulations. Bring reasonable aviation, preferably rotary wing, technical experience and subject matter expertise. Be highly motivated, professional and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Be comfortable networking with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders to build and sustain key working relationships. Have a demonstrated commitment to personal development and provide strong support to the NASPO Executive. Have an advanced level of computer literacy including MS products and be able to utilise other Defence IT systems to achieve results.
