Public Area Cleaner – Remote Central Australia, Northern Territory An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Public Area Cleaner to join a well-established tourism and hospitality operation in remote Central Australia. Located in one of the Northern Territory’s most unique and naturally breathtaking regions, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining high presentation standards, and is comfortable working in a remote environment surrounded by iconic Australian landscapes and wildlife. This is not an entry-level position — we are seeking a reliable and physically capable cleaner with previous public area cleaning experience who can work independently, manage early morning starts, and confidently maintain high-traffic guest facilities to an excellent standard. The role also involves animal feeding and basic grounds duties, making it perfect for someone who enjoys varied, active workdays. COMMENCE: Late May 2026 ✨ PACKAGE HIGA Level 2 Monday–Friday: $32.31 per hour Saturday: $38.78 per hour Sunday: $45.24 per hour Public Holiday Penalty Rates Apply Additional Benefits 5–6 day working week Accommodation & meals: $150 per week Private room with shared bathroom Excellent opportunity to save money in a remote location Supportive team environment and excellent working conditions Please note: This role requires early morning starts. ✨ DUTIES Responsibilities include: Cleaning public toilets, showers, camping amenities, camp kitchens and communal guest areas Cleaning and maintaining fire pits and outdoor public spaces Identifying maintenance issues and reporting them appropriately End-of-month stocktake of cleaning products and supplies Emptying bins and managing rubbish disposal Cleaning swimming pool areas, pathways and driveways Pressure cleaning around fuel bowsers and public areas Refilling customer window-cleaning water stations Feeding animals and cleaning animal yards and onsite bird aviaries Practising safe chemical handling procedures Assisting with general yard and grounds maintenance as required ✨ IDEAL CANDIDATE To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous public area or commercial cleaning experience A current manual driver’s licence (essential) Good physical fitness and ability to handle active outdoor work Confidence working around animals Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently A positive attitude and reliable work ethic ✨ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Access via flights followed by bus transfer Sealed road access available Friendly and supportive onsite team Stable hours and consistent work available Fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a remote working experience while saving money If you’re an experienced cleaner looking for a rewarding remote opportunity in the heart of Central Australia, we’d love to hear from you.
