About the role AGL is undergoing one of the most significant transformations in its history, and we’re looking for a Senior Regulatory & Compliance Advisor to play a critical role in ensuring our Retail Transformation delivers impactful change while remaining compliant, sustainable and customer‑focused. This role sits within the Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Transformation team , supporting AGL’s Retail Transformation Program and working closely with stakeholders across Customer Markets to embed regulatory compliance into future designs — not as an afterthought, but as a core enabler. As a Senior Regulatory & Compliance Advisor , you will provide timely, practical and strategic regulatory advice across a wide range of transformation initiatives. You’ll partner with product, sales, marketing, operations and digital teams to navigate complex regulatory requirements while enabling innovation and better customer outcomes. Reporting to the Regulatory & Compliance Manager , this role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who enjoys working in ambiguity, influencing outcomes and applying regulatory expertise in a fast‑moving transformation environment. In this role, you will: Provide clear, actionable regulatory and compliance advice in a complex and highly regulated retail energy environment Support key initiatives including product development, external communications, marketing, campaigns, and sales processes Partner with the Retail Transformation program to ensure new regulatory obligations are identified, implemented and monitored effectively Deliver commercially practical advice that highlights regulatory risk and supports informed business decision‑making Promote a positive and open compliance culture across Customer Markets and the Retail Transformation program Provide informal mentoring and guidance to more junior team members, supporting capability uplift across the team Use regulatory insight to help shape and implement future initiatives and process improvements Contribute to the adoption of best‑practice regulatory compliance approaches across the business To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: Demonstrated experience in a regulatory or compliance role within the retail energy industry Strong ability to interpret legislation and translate regulatory requirements into practical business outcomes Proven experience working in complex, evolving and ambiguous environments Well‑developed legal and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of how regulations impact systems, processes and customer outcomes A commercial, strategic mindset toward ensuring regulatory compliance Strong communication skills, with experience presenting regulatory matters to managers and broader stakeholder groups Demonstrated ability to partner collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver compliance requirements Awareness of regulatory best practice and a drive to continuously improve ways of working Why Join AGL?
