Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital As a Registered Nurse you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, promoting safety and evidence-based practice, supporting patient education and advocacy, and ensuring clinical standards are met in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit provides specialised, high-acuity care to patients with life-threatening conditions such as cardiac, respiratory, or multi-organ failure. This role involves continuous monitoring, rapid clinical decision-making, and the use of advanced medical equipment to stabilise and support critically ill patients. The Position Maintains and develops clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence. Delivers a high standard of patient care utilising appropriate resources cost effectively. Adheres to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards. Acts as the patient’s advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals. Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care. Prioritises workload using resources effectively. Provides supervision to Enrolled Nurses, students and PCAs as required. Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Recognises the necessity to continually develop skills and acquire additional knowledge appropriate to the position. Achieves mandatory annual hospital competencies and assumes responsibility for record maintenance. Actively seeks opportunities for further professional development. Seeks staff development education and presents evidence of attendance to Nurse Manager. Updates practice in accordance with changes in Hospital/Nursing Policies and Procedures Shares knowledge and skills with other staff using informal and formal methods. The Position Requirements You will have registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate clinical experience in an acute care. A strong commitment to personal and professional development is also required, reflecting the hospital’s focus on continuous learning and excellence in clinical practice. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a supportive and effective care environment. Well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving are critical to managing complex care situations and fostering positive outcomes for patients. We can offer you Salary: $82,945 to $106,630 per annum plus 12% superannuation on pro-rate basis.
