Description Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. Downer Professional Services is Australia’s multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and Government. We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer – Verification & Validation in ACT to work on Defence Command & Control (C2) and Land Systems projects. What You'll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: Maintain and manage systems engineering artefacts including Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP) and Technical Certification Plans (TCP) for CAF16 systems Support engineering, integration, verification and validation activities within an integrated workforce Provide engineering and configuration management support to Engineering and System Managers, including preparation for Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) Perform quality assurance and technical reviews of vendor engineering documentation submitted to the Commonwealth of Australia Support engineering audits, develop and authorise Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and attain Technical/Engineering Authority commensurate with experience What You'll Bring Experience in Systems Engineering within a Defence or CASG environment, including SEMP, TCPs and requirements management Tertiary qualifications in Engineering with demonstrated professional engineering experience Demonstrated experience in Verification & Validation activities and managing technical risk Strong understanding of software system safety, security, modern networking, operating systems and computing environments Advanced technical writing skills with strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
