About Energy, Resources and Infrastructure Our multi-disciplinary Energy, Resources and Infrastructure team includes project, project finance, regulatory, infrastructure, construction, operational and corporate specialists who all have deep experience advising on Australia’s most complex energy and infrastructure projects. With a focus on Energy and Infrastructure Finance, you will work across the full lifecycle of both greenfield and brownfield acquisition and development financings. You will work on some of Australia’s most complex and high-profile transactions in energy transition, including solar, wind, BESS, PHES, waste-to-energy and hydrogen. You will also work with financing of traditional infrastructure assets including PPPs and Core-Plus, social housing projects, transport and natural resources. Role overview In this role, you will work closely with Jamie Guthrie and Adela Smith . Jamie is a leading project finance partner with over 15 years’ experience advising on the development, structuring and financing of utility-scale renewables and infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally. Jamie acts for sponsors, financiers and government entities, who value his deep sector expertise, commercial judgment and ability to navigate complex multi-party transactions. Adela has over 20 years’ experience and her practice focuses on advising borrowers, lenders and sponsors on energy and infrastructure, resources, acquisition and project finance transactions. Adela has advised on some of the largest energy and infrastructure transactions in the market, including high profile acquisitions in the sector, including in renewable & tradition energy, digital infrastructure and PPPs. She also advises on social infrastructure project financings, including social & affordable housing. You will also work closely with the broader Energy, Resources and Infrastructure workstream partners across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, including John Schembri , Kon Nakousis , Michael Blakiston , Claire Boyd , Clare Pope , Zac Kerr and Simon Lynch . About you We're looking for a senior lawyer with strong project and infrastructure finance experience to join our Energy and Infrastructure team in Sydney. You will be/have: At least three years post-admission experience; Demonstrated project & infrastructure finance experience at senior associate level in an Australian or overseas law firm; Strong interest in energy transition & renewables and the motivation to expand your knowledge and expertise Well-developed drafting and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead project areas and deliver client outcomes Ability to foster trusted client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness and professional insight A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and a commitment to mentoring and supporting junior lawyers; and An ability to plan and problem-solve effectively, by collaborating with stakeholders and nurturing long-term client relationships What we offer A supportive and flexible work environment.
