The Role Are you a passionate about the future of water and community resilience? As a Strategic Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we care for and invest in the whole water cycle. This is not just about infrastructure; it is about weaving together cultural, environmental, economic, and social dimensions to deliver enduring public value. You will translate sector strategies and water security aspirations into integrated plans that guide long-term growth and urban renewal. Working at the intersection of built infrastructure and natural systems, you will ensure our planning recognises the water cycle as a connected, living system. Your Key Responsibilities Develop service plan objectives that integrate social, technical, and commercial drivers while monitoring policy changes to provide clear implementation recommendations. Explore and pilot transformative concepts, including decentralized systems, circular economy models, and nature-based solutions. Work in partnership with internal teams, Traditional Owners, regulators, and commercial partners to co-create integrated planning approaches. Assess options to sustainably grow water supplies and manage Alternative Water Strategies at regional and catchment scales. Support Traditional Owner-led Country and water planning initiatives, ensuring planning reflects care and responsibility for ecological integrity What we're Looking for A University Degree in Urban Planning, Water Resource Management, Strategic Water Policy, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Mandatory). 5 years of experience and an intermediate understanding of the policy/regulatory environment and water resource management. Advanced ability to build collaborative partnerships and translate technical knowledge across diverse stakeholder groups. 2-3 years of experience navigating statutory requirements and the ability to work comfortably in uncertain contexts without defined processes.
