The purpose of the Research Grants and Development Office is to support high-quality research and researchers by: Supporting researchers to meet their obligations with respect to ethics, integrity, project management, supervision and reporting. Supporting researchers to develop their skills and knowledge in areas of Research and Development Office expertise. Supporting researchers to develop high-quality research funding proposals. Developing, analysing and reporting high-quality research management data to support the strategic development of Garvan’s research profile. THE OPPORTUNITY The Research Grants Administrator supports the Research Grants and Development Office in achieving excellence in research administration and grant management at Garvan. Information Triage: Address requests from People and Culture, payroll, and other departments regarding researcher and grant information. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including maintaining templates and scheduling tasks for research-related committees. Meeting Support: On request, attend, review, and assist with panel and committee meetings, including managing video conferencing set up. Communication Management: Manage a central inbox to respond to, triage, and redirect general research and grant-related requests. Special Projects: Undertake special projects as required from time to time. ABOUT YOU The key skills and experience include: Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. Experience: Previous experience working in a busy office environment. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Office software and research management data. Soft Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and contribute effectively to a team. Resilience: Capacity to work effectively under pressure. Commitment: Understanding of and commitment to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
