UGL has a strategic partnership with the Department of Defence across the Defence Fuels Network. The Defence Fuels Network (DFN) is an extensive network of more than 100 Defence Fuel Installations (DFI’s) across Australia providing fuel for Army, Navy and Airforce operations. The Defence Fuels Network Managing Contractor Contract (DFN MCC) has UGL partnering with the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) in delivering strategic and recurring services to Australia’s Defence Forces in Fuel and Inventory Management, Asset, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations Management and delivery while enhancing and maximising Australian supply chain and participation. About the role Flexible for this role to be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Perth. Regular travel across DFN sites is required. Responsible for the safe and efficient fuels delivery services, operations and maintenance as required by the DFN MCC and in accordance with the Operations Systems Plan (OSP) and Maintenance Management Plan (MMP) in addition to referenced and required Defence documentation and processes. Key responsibilities Manage a national team of Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) professionals across the Defence Fuel Network (DFN) for the DFN MCC. Lead and champion best practice HSSE Management across operations through promotion of the required safe behaviours, security and environmental culture Ensure a clear understanding of UGL and Defence HSSE expectations and obligations. Implement UGL’s One HSE Culture Framework and Critical Risk / Critical Risk Control protocol and practices ensuring compliance to legislative requirements Lead, deliver and champion security management to meet Commonwealth Defence security requirements Ensure any health, safety, security, and environment issues/incidents are appropriately investigated and required actions completed, closed out and suitable communication and learnings are distributed in a timely manner Ensures appropriate resources are allocated for effective HSSE management and coaching of UGL employed, Subcontracted and UGL managed personnel to achieve strong HSSE performance Ensure contractors comply with all HSSE requirements under the contract About You Minimum ten years’ experience in HSE Management in a high-risk industry, preferably oil and gas or relatable chemical processing industry. Excellent knowledge of the relevant HSE legislation, and demonstrated capability to develop and implement HSE management systems. Experience in managing security in a Defence context or other high security risk environment. Experience in leading and reviewing incident investigations, developing and leading training and presentations to small and large groups, and experience in developing and driving improvement plans.
