About the role An exciting, business-critical role with a truly iconic, instantly recognisable FMCG / Retail organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. This is a high‑impact finance role that will contribute directly to the company’s strong performance. This role will be a highly-visible position within the business with a clear progression pathway. Taking a hands-on approach; this Financial Accountants' position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & management accounting activities on a national scale. This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in their Macquarie Park / North Ryde office (3-4 days per week on office). The responsibilities Reporting into the Divisional Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); Prepare the month-end close process which includes, but not limited to, preparation of various journals and liaising with all areas of finance. Ownership of the provision calculation and analysis and both month-end and year-end Preparation of AASB16 Lease Accounting adjustments. Assist with statutory audit and preparation of audit documentations. Completion of balance sheet reconciliation. Assist in preparation of board pack and other corporate reporting packs. Assist in preparation of monthly GST lodgement, annual FBT return. Assist in annual statutory financial reports preparation. Preparation of weekly operational cashflow forecasts. Assist in annual budget process and liaise with broader team in Freedom. Preparation of balance sheet and net working capital budget and forecast. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives Assist in ad-hoc projects as directed by the wider Finance team The successful applicant will have Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional (or studying towards full qualification) and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail and a self-motivated approach to continuous learning and professional development. Furthermore, proven career experience working in an FMCG / Retail / Inventory-based industry will be considered highly advantageous.
