Technical Service Engineer Hands On Hardware and Enterprise IT | Macquarie Park If you’re the type of person who pulls things apart to understand how they work, this role will make sense to you. We’re looking for someone practical and curious who enjoys working with hardware, troubleshooting issues, and building systems properly. This is not a ticket closing role. You will be hands on with real equipment every day. The Role You’ll work in a workshop environment supporting a wide range of IT systems, from desktops and laptops through to enterprise servers, storage and networking infrastructure. Your day to day will include: Building and configuring servers, storage and networking equipment Testing, troubleshooting and repairing hardware Diagnosing faults and bringing failed equipment back to life Preparing and shipping systems to customers Supporting technical services across a variety of environments Roughly 80 percent of your time is hands on technical work, with 20 percent supporting warehouse and logistics. Over time, you’ll also gain exposure to on site work and client environments. The Tech You won’t be stuck working on the same equipment every day. You’ll get exposure to: Enterprise servers and storage platforms Networking equipment and infrastructure Refurbished and repurposed hardware A wide range of systems across different industries Unique and uncommon equipment you won’t typically see in standard IT roles If you’ve only worked on basic setups, this is a strong step into enterprise level environments. What We’re Looking For This role is about mindset and attitude. Hands on experience building or repairing computers or electronics Genuine interest in IT hardware and how systems work Strong troubleshooting and problem solving ability Willingness to get involved across technical work and logistics Good communication skills and ability to represent the business when required Attention to detail and pride in your work If you prefer sitting behind a desk or escalating issues, this won’t suit. If you enjoy getting hands on and figuring things out, you’ll do well.
