We are partnering with a seed-stage company with enterprise-grade products, a multi-vertical roadmap, and a deliberate decision to invest heavily in marketing from day one. We are looking for a CMO who will define what the Company’s brand means — and build a marketing function that is genuinely disruptive in a sector (legal technology) that is extraordinarily conservative. There is a healthy budget to execute the right strategy - hooray!. This is not a "do more with less" role. This is a "we will fund the right plan" role. The CMO will have real resources and real autonomy to build something that stands out — not just in legal tech, but in Australian B2B SaaS broadly. The company’s audience is two-sided: serving law firms (core buyers) and their clients (lenders, developers, landlords, borrowers) who interact with the platform directly. The CMO needs to build brand and demand across both sides. Responsibilities Define and own brand identity, positioning, and messaging across all channels and audiences Build and execute a marketing strategy that generates qualified pipeline for a multi-product, multi-vertical platform Develop go-to-market playbooks for each product vertical (conveyancing, banking & finance, litigation, M&A, leasing, operations) Build the firm's presence and reputation in the Australian legal market through content, events, partnerships, PR, and thought leadership Own the brand narrative for investor communications — pitch decks, fundraise materials, and market positioning Explore and execute disruptive marketing approaches that differentiate the firm in a conservative industry — campaigns that make people talk Build and lead the marketing function from the ground up — hiring, agency relationships, tooling, and processes Own performance marketing, SEO, content strategy, and demand generation Collaborate with the CEO on brand direction, pricing strategy, and market expansion decisions Manage the marketing budget with full accountability for ROI Requirements 8 years of marketing experience with at least 3 years in a senior/leadership role (VP Marketing, Head of Marketing, or CMO) Proven track record building brand and generating pipeline in B2B SaaS or enterprise software Experience marketing to professional services, financial services, or regulated industries Demonstrated ability to think creatively and execute campaigns that break through noise — not just run standard playbooks Strong strategic thinking combined with willingness to be hands-on at a seed-stage company Experience with multi-product or multi-vertical marketing (not just single-product) Excellent written communication Data-driven approach to measuring and optimising marketing performance Comfortable working directly with a technical founder and a small, fast-moving team Nice to Have Experience in legal technology, proptech, fintech, or regtech Background marketing two-sided platforms or marketplaces Experience with brand repositioning or rebrand execution Track record in the Australian market specifically Experience with early-stage or seed-stage companies (building from zero) Established network in Australian legal, property, or financial services sectors Work Hybrid in great office near Circular Quay - as a founding member of the firm the role comes with a great salary, bonus structure and share options post probation.
