About the Position: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and play a key role in maintaining the high standards of authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine that our customers love. In this hands-on position, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes, manage kitchen staff, and contribute to menu development while upholding strict food safety and hygiene standards. This role is critical to the smooth and efficient operation of our busy restaurant and directly impacts customer satisfaction and business success. Key Responsibilities: Plan and design menus featuring authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine, including street food specialties such as pav bhaji, vada pav, and chaat items Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of Indian vegetarian dishes using traditional methods, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and service Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation procedures Coordinate day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure timely food preparation and smooth service during peak hours Order, receive, and manage kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness, quality, and proper stock rotation Ensure strict compliance with Australian food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they follow standard recipes and operational procedures Assist in controlling food costs and minimising wastage to maintain profitability Communicate effectively with management and front-of-house staff regarding menu updates and service requirements Requirements : Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
