We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Casual Mechanical Fitter to join our team. About the Role As a Casual Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and testing mechanical systems and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. You will work alongside engineers and other trades to support ongoing project and maintenance requirements. This position offers flexibility and is suited to someone available for varied shifts, including occasional overtime and site-based work as required. Role available for an immediate start. Key Responsibilities Assemble and fit mechanical components and systems in accordance with technical drawings and specifications Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively Inspect, test, and troubleshoot completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards Collaborate with engineers and trades personnel to optimise equipment performance Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and job documentation Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures and policies Requirements Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar trade role Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards Ability to obtain and maintain an NSSIC (Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Infrastructure Contract) Security Access Card Willingness to undergo and successfully pass a full medical assessment Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Clearance Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
