Maritime Safety Queensland is the VTS provider for VTS in Queensland. VTS centres function as traffic control centres for shipping in ports and their surrounding waterways. They operate 24 hours a day and use shore-based systems to identify and monitor vessels, coordinate and plan vessel movements, and provide navigational information and advice to ensure maritime safety. Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include Research, analysis, development, maintenance and implementation of processes and procedures on both new and existing Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) Information Technology (IT) systems, including but not limited to MaritimeControl and PortControl (Queensland Shipping Information Planning System - QSHIPS). Manage incident, change and problem management processes for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems, ensuring the effective software support in alignment with quality management frameworks and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles. Collaborate with technical teams, solution architects and project stakeholders to contribute to system design, product configuration, and technical implementation requirements. Planning and coordinating system upgrades, application configuration, testing, release and deployment of new or enhanced applications. Engage with VTS stakeholders to develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide 24/7 on call support for MaritimeControl and PortControl (QSHIPS) systems as part of a rotational roster. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
