This is a Registered Nurses - Critical Care role with St John of God Health Care based in Bendigo, VIC, AU St John of God Health Care Role Seniority - junior, mid level More about the Registered Nurses - Critical Care role at St John of God Health Care Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (post graduate qualified) & Registered Nurses to join our 12‑bed Critical Care Unit on a casual basis. The role supports a diverse, high‑acuity patient cohort, including post‑operative surgical patients, medical admissions requiring close monitoring, coronary care patients, and individuals requiring advanced respiratory and haemodynamic support. Casual shifts offer flexibility to suit your availability, with 7.6‑hour shifts on a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays, providing exposure to a broad and dynamic case mix in a fast‑paced clinical environment. The Position: Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high standard of nursing care in consultation with the health care team, patient and carers. Provide safe, holistic and customer-focused patient care. Ensure nursing care is documented accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure medical treatment orders are implemented and documented, consulting with doctors if orders are unclear. Assess the need for and provide health education for patients and carers Ensure nursing care is practiced according to professional and organisational clinical standards, policies and procedures Organise team and individual workloads; prioritise and delegate as appropriate Provide effective verbal and written communication ensuring the patient, carers and the interdisciplinary team are all included in the immediate and ongoing health care. You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and postgraduate qualifications in Critical Care Nursing for Critical Care Registered Nurse roles. To succeed you will a sound understanding of Australian College of Intensive Care Nurses (ACCCN) Standards of Practice for Specialist Critical Care Nurses and demonstrate an excellent level of knowledge and skills relevant to the Critical Care environment.
