You will play a key role in supporting the Operations business manage risk, providing input into the development of frameworks, policies, supporting standards, processes and procedures by collaborating and partnering with stakeholders, advancing understanding of our risk, obligation and control environment. You will primarily support the business with incident and issue management, test and monitor the effectiveness of controls, compliance with obligations and risk appetite, as well as provide risk insights by identifying new / emerging risks and regulatory change, to support the consistent delivery of meaningful value to our customers. Where risk events or compliance breaches occur, you will drive, track and monitor remediation and treatment of risks outside of appetite to fulfill our commitment to our customers and communities. You will support the consistent implementation of change by ensuring that Great Southern Bank’s frameworks, policies, supporting standards, processes and procedures are applied, with a focus on embedding divisional senior leader accountability for risk management. You’ll make an impact by: Act as a trust business partner to help manage incidents and issues Assisting the team in coordinating risk and control identification Supporting risk assessments and managing risk acceptances Working with the Senior Advisors and stakeholders to set key risk indicators (KRIs), thresholds and triggers Perform and Review control design and operating effectiveness Documenting and providing assurance that reasonable steps are being taken to meet accountabilities Leveraging AI tools to improve processes and efficiency Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have: Minimum 1-3 years in financial services with a sound understanding of operational risk and compliance in the financial services industry Demonstrated E xperience in Financial Services Operations, Risk or Business Controls function Experience in data analysis using SQL and Data Bricks is highly desirable Experience in AI Risk and usage of AI tools is desirable Controls testing and assurance activities highly desirable Degree in management, business, finance or related discipline (desirable) Knowledge of relevant Finance industry standards, acts, codes and legislation (e.g., APRA, Consumer Credit Code, Credit Union Code of Practice, Privacy Act, Trade Practices Act, FSRA) (essential) Why Great Southern Bank?
