To support growth in our Mine Waste Practice, we’re looking for a Dams and Tailings Engineer with 4 years of experience to join our high-performing team and help advance innovative solutions in tailings and mine waste management . We service some of the largest mining clients domestically and internationally delivering a diverse project portfolio ranging from targeted studies for individual mine operations to multi-million-dollar, multi-disciplinary projects for global clients. Responsibilities Reporting to the Practice Leader – Mine Waste Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering projects in Tailings and Mine Waste Engineering, driving project excellence, client satisfaction and sustainable business performance. You will: Work on a wide range of tailings facility and dam projects at various stages of design and delivery. the technical advisory level. Actively participate in growing the growth size and technical development of the team. Contribute and develop your skills working on a diverse range of projects from inception to completion. Work with an extremely capable and experienced team to support your preferred technical area(s) and ambitions for Professional Development. Develop meaningful and genuine relationships with colleague s and clients, including exclusive 1 on 1 mentorship opportunities with one of our Associate or Principal Engineers. Experience Our ideal candidate will have 4 years’ experience, including experience within a consultancy group, as well as: Demonstrated experience int tailings and geotechnical engineering practice in a consulting environment. Tertiary qualifications in civil or mining engineering Good report writing and communication skills (English) and strong ability to transfer these skills in preparation of proposals, engineering reports, design specifications and design drawings. Experience with completing geotechnical site investigations for tailings projects. Working knowledge with at least one of the following design software packages: GeoStudio, PLAXIS, Muk3D. Understanding of the following areas and experience: Tailings deposition strategies, Multi criteria assessments, Consequence category assessments, Operation, maintenance and surveillance manuals, and Conceptual closure plans Well-developed creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills.
