About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to join our supportive team in either Waitara or Tuggerah (Central Coast, NSW) on a permanent part-time basis, 3 days per week. To be successful in this role, you will be either accredited by the Attorney‑General’s Department or nearing accreditation. For candidates close to accreditation, we will provide the required supervision to complete placement hours, with the intention of extending the role once accreditation is achieved to continue as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. In this pivotal role, you’ll play a meaningful part in supporting families through separation with a strong, child‑focused approach. You’ll empower parents to navigate complex conversations around parenting and property, facilitating safe, respectful, and solution‑focused discussions. By helping families reach sustainable agreements that prioritise children’s wellbeing and align with family law principles, you’ll make a lasting, positive impact. You’ll also be part of a collaborative and supportive team that values professional growth, open feedback, and continuous learning, while staying at the forefront of legislative and best‑practice developments. Key Responsibilities: Deliver mediation utilising a variety of mediation models depending on the needs of clients. Navigate complex, high-conflict situations with sensitivity and effective strategies. Conduct client assessments and facilitate joint or shuttle mediations. Maintain accurate records and uphold client service standards. Apply your knowledge of family law, child safety, and trauma-informed practice. Contribute to team development through supervision, debriefs, and community of practice meetings. What You’ll Bring: Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Attorney General’s Department). We will give consideration to applicants who are nearing their accreditation or close to receiving their accreditation. Tertiary qualifications in Law, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Proven experience in family dispute resolution and child-inclusive practices. Deep understanding of domestic and family violence, child protection, and mental health. Accreditation under the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
