About This Role This is a full-time position focused on mechanical design, product development, and engineering system support within a manufacturing environment. The Engineering Technologist (Mechanical) will be responsible for: Analysing and improving mechanical engineering technologies, systems, and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and performance. Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems, products, and equipment using CAD and engineering tools. Preparing, interpreting, and releasing technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications for internal and external manufacturing. Supporting Engineering Change Requests (ECR), design updates, and engineering documentation control. Conducting testing, inspections, and validation activities to ensure designs meet required standards and performance criteria. Supporting product development activities including prototyping, testing, and system improvements. Contributing to technical documentation, engineering manuals, and product-related materials. Maintaining engineering systems including BOMs, parts lists, and design records. Supporting ISO 9001 design, development, and quality assurance processes, including audits and documentation compliance. Supporting project planning, cost estimation, and coordination of engineering resources. Liaising with engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and project compliance. Monitoring and reporting on project progress, system performance, and engineering outcomes. Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, WHS regulations, and internal quality systems. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across design and manufacturing processes. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field. 1–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, or engineering support. Proficiency in CAD and engineering documentation systems. Strong technical and analytical skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Understanding of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle. Good communication and teamwork abilities. High attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
