As a Spot Trader , you'll play a critical role in maximising Delta's market earnings by executing realtime trading strategies in Australia's dynamic energy market. Acting as a key interface between Delta's operations and market operators, you'll make high impact decisions that directly influence commercial performance. This role operates on a rotating roster , including morning, day and evening shifts. About the Role In this fast paced, operational role, you will: Execute dynamic bidding strategies and adjust them in real-time based on market conditions. Trade power across all NEM states. Work closely with asset operations to optimise plant and market risk. Liaise with AEMO and ensure seamless market operations. Monitor market trends and competitor behaviour to stay ahead of the curve. Provide critical market analysis to support the energy trading group. Perform on-call duties outside standard hours, handling real-time trading activities. About you You're analytical, commercially minded, and thrive under pressure. You will bring: A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. Ideally 2 years' experience within the NEM or a similarly competitive trading or financial market environment. Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex data and act decisively. A solid understanding of energy markets (knowledge and experience in gas markets is an advantage) and risk management principles is desirable.
