Role Overview As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key pillar of the Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Leader. This isn’t just a "numbers" role—it requires a "people-first" approach. You will be a collaborative partner to the entire business, from front-line team leaders to the CFO. We are a growth business where change is constant, so we need someone agile who can simplify complex financial data into plain English for our retail teams. You must be comfortable working autonomously, identifying opportunities, and possessing the tenacity to tackle problems head-on. Primary Responsibilities Month-End & Retail Support: Drive month-end close activities and act as a supportive resource for our retail shops. You won't be afraid to pick up the phone and speak to our people on the front line to resolve issues. Tax & Compliance Oversight: Support the preparation and filing of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Payroll Tax, and Workers' Compensation reporting by overseeing and reviewing outputs for accuracy. Property & Lease Management: Work closely with our Property team to ensure the accurate maintenance of our leases and all property-related financial matters. Audit Coordination: Support the preparation and coordination of the annual audit process and address auditor inquiries. Balance Sheet Integrity: Perform and review reconciliations to ensure account balances are 100% accurate. Initiative & Improvement: Proactively identify and implement cost efficiencies and process improvements across the organisation. About You You are a "can-do," positive person with a growth mindset who never gets bored of the basics. Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA qualification is preferred. Experience: 6 years of accounting experience with a proven ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines. Technical Savvy: High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, experience with ERP systems (ideally NetSuite), and exposure to AI systems. Communication: Exceptional verbal skills; the ability to explain financial questions in plain English and build strong relationships. Agility: Ability to remain effective and positive in a fast-paced environment where change is constant. Tenacity: A problem-solving mindset with the initiative to tackle tasks without being asked.
