About the role Our client is seeking an experienced in-house Diesel / Plant Mechanic to join their team in a full-time capacity. This role will see you responsible for servicing and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and earthmoving equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely, reliably, and efficiently to support project delivery. The role will involve a mix of workshop-based and on-site field service work across Sydney. Key Responsibilities for the role Carry out on-site field servicing, maintenance, and repairs on earthmoving equipment Service and maintain fleet vehicles including utes and trucks Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner Maintain accurate records of all servicing and repair work completed Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company procedures Work closely with site supervisors and operators to minimise downtime and disruption Skills and Experience Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel/Plant Mechanic or equivalent) Experience working with excavators, dumpers, skid steers, or similar equipment Minimum 2-3 year's experience in a similar role Experience with CAT machinery (favourable but not essential) Valid Australian HR licence Ability to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Culture Join a well-established and supportive team that values reliability, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship.
