Job Description Reporting to the Branch Manager the role includes the following responsibilities: Manage and lead a team engaged in the timely and safe execution of Pickup and Delivery operations that result in high customer service and lowest cost of operation. Coordinate Pick-up and Delivery activities to align with our linehaul rail schedules. Manage company driver and sub-contractor selection. Ensure compliance in regards to company and legislative OH&S and CoR requirements. Provide leadership, accountability and responsibility for the distribution team. Manage workflows and resources to ensure optimum efficiency targets are met. Develop and drive business processes with continuous improvement. Preparation of weekly KPI reports. Monitor spending to ensure cost is in line with approved budgets. Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending and conducting safety and toolbox meetings. Proactive management of medical treatment or lost time injuries with a focus on reduction of cost of claims Ensure company vehicles are maintained and in a safe working order. A sound knowledge of the transport industry regulations and OHS requirements including CoR The ability to work unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation. Good time management skills. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and SAP. Previous experience with manual and automated routing systems an advantage. The ability to work as part of a team. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Acute attention to detail. The ability to work to within Safety, Quality Systems and procedures including CoR.
