About the role We're seeking a Head of Asset Performance NSW to lead the efficient and effective management of maintenance across Transurban's full NSW asset po rtfolio. You'll join a senior leadership team that takes a best-practice, commercially disciplined approach to asset management — partnering closely with service providers, government stakeholders and internal teams to deliver infrastructure that millions of people rely on every day. As our Head of Asset Performance NSW , you'll sit at the intersection of commercial performance, technical assurance and people leadership — owning a complex, high-stakes portfolio where the decisions you make directly impact the safety, reliability and long-term value of some of Australia's most critical road infrastructure. No two days look the same, and the scale of wha t you' ll be accountable for is significant. Day-to-day, you will: Lead the development and execution of Annu al Maintenance Plans and asset management s trategies, balancing risk, compliance and commercial performance across a complex infrastructure portfolio . Key assets include Westconnex , Northconnex , Hills M2, M5 East, M5 Southwest, Lane Cover Tunnel, Eastern Distributor and Cross City Tunnel. Manage commercial and operational relationships with key Service Providers, driving accountability for delivery, quality and contract performance Provide budgetary management for maintenance operational expenditure across NSW, with a focus on fiscal discipline and value optimisation Lead Technical Assurance inspection capability, embedding a culture of high-quality data collection to inform asset decisions Partner with senior internal and external stakeholders — including State Government, Concession Partners and O&M contractors — to drive mutually beneficial network outcomes Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a one-team mindset and a strong safety, risk and performance culture This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including: Proven o perations and contract management experience in a major infrastructure or maintenance environment, with strong commercial and financial acumen Demonstrated experience in compliance, HSE and risk management, including the preparation and implementation of incident management plans Significant stakeholder management experience, including engagement with government, contractors and community partners at a senior level Strong people leadership capability, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams A degree in Engineering, Management, Commerce or a related discipline — postgraduate qualifications and experience with road or tunnel technology (tolling, traffic management, safety systems) highly regarded If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
