Description Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support commercial operations and community programs Manage month‑end close processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity Maintain the general ledger across multiple cost centres, entities, and funding streams Ensure accurate accounting for retail operations, donations, grants, and government funding Prepare statutory and compliance reporting including BAS, GST, FBT, and ACNC reporting requirements Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to help drive financial sustainability and informed decision‑making Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights that balance commercial outcomes with social impact Coordinate external audits and respond to auditor and regulator queries Monitor and strengthen financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with not‑for‑profit governance standards Assist with cash flow management and financial planning to support ongoing growth and service delivery Contribute to system improvements, process efficiencies, and finance projects as the organisation evolves Profile A successful Financial Accountant should have: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional membership or progress towards a CA or CPA qualification. Strong technical accounting skills with a sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards. Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and audit processes. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial documentation. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. An understanding of the Not For Profit sector would be advantageous.
