THE ROLE A vacancy has arisen for a hands-on Poultry Farm Manager to work closely within and alongside a small team to ensure high standards of animal welfare and deliver agreed performance targets. RESPONSIBILITIES Direct, hands-on involvement in daily farm activities and organising team members to monitor the health and welfare of the flock and deliver agreed performance targets. Plan and deliver workforce needs in alignment with flock scheduling. Data capture and recording to monitor flock performance in real time. Induction and training of new employees. Ensure a safe work environment. Ensure biosecurity policy is strictly adhered to. Monitor and manage maintenance of farm plant and equipment. REQUIREMENTS Prior experience in poultry management preferably, but not necessarily in egg layers. Prior experience in working in and leading, training and mentoring a small team. A hands-on, collaborative management style. Mechanical aptitude. LOCATION Monegeetta, one hour's drive north from the Melbourne CBD. REMUNERATION A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with experience. 3 bedroom on-farm accommodation will be provided.
