Major Works Estimator Brisbane QLD Full time Join a well-established and growing building repairs business delivering large-scale domestic and commercial insurance projects across South East Queensland. Based out of the Brisbane office, this role will focus on major loss and complex repair works, providing accurate estimating and cost control across high-value projects. This is a key position within the business, suited to someone who understands construction in depth and can confidently price large and technically complex scopes. The role You will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates on major works projects, typically involving large domestic losses and complex commercial repairs. You will assess scopes, review documentation, conduct site visits where required, and produce accurate costings that align with project requirements and client expectations. You will work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, insurers and clients to ensure estimates are commercially sound, competitive and aligned with delivery outcomes. Key responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for major domestic and commercial repair projects Review scopes of work, plans, reports and supporting documentation Conduct site inspections where required to assess project requirements Liaise with clients, insurers, consultants and internal teams Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing Ensure estimates align with budgets, timelines and profitability targets Identify risks, variations and cost-saving opportunities Support project teams during delivery with cost tracking and variations About you You will have strong estimating experience within construction, ideally across insurance repairs, commercial works or major loss projects. You will be confident working across complex scopes, understand buildability, and be comfortable liaising with multiple stakeholders. You are detail-focused, commercially aware, and able to produce accurate estimates in a fast-paced environment.
