About the role As the Director – Western Australia, you will lead the Australian Red Cross’s operations, driving the successful delivery of strategic outcomes and community‑focused programs. Accountable for operational excellence, financial sustainability, team leadership, and a strong, positive organisational culture, you will ensure that all activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. In addition to local operational leadership, the Director holds national accountability for a designated Sub‑Strategy or Strategic Priority. This could include guiding organisation‑wide initiatives, managing resources across multiple locations, and effectively convening and influencing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. A trusted ambassador for Australian Red Cross, you will build and nurture high‑impact relationships across community groups, local and state governments, federal representatives, donors, partners, and supporters. Through these relationships, you will strengthen brand presence, advance organisational priorities, and expand opportunities for growth, sustainable funding and collaboration. The role is also central to supporting and partnering with the WA Divisional Council, fostering deep connections with members, volunteers, and supporters to enhance engagement and create meaningful community impact. Acting in accordance with the 7 Fundamental Principles that govern the work of the Red Cross Red Crescent movement, you will model our values and uphold the high standards we are held to. You will lead with integrity, collaborate with purpose, and drive real, lasting outcomes for the communities we serve. About you To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive senior leadership experience within a community services or service delivery organisation. You are known for inspiring cultural transformation and building high‑performing teams that deliver strong outcomes for clients and communities. You bring a contemporary, inclusive approach to stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated experience partnering effectively with local communities — including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. You’ll also bring: Well-developed financial management skills and organisational acumen Ability to work under broad direction with a high degree of autonomy and use initiative on a regular basis to advance and execute strategy Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with external stakeholders such as peak bodies, Government (State and Local), partner organisations and corporates.
