Overview This role supports the SO1 Force-In-Being / Capability Assessments Program (FIB/CAP), operating at the intersection of Force Design Division and Army Programs. The position plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the 2026 Integrated Investment Program (IIP) and broader National Defence Strategy, ensuring alignment between strategic intent, capability development, and delivery. The successful candidate will contribute to capability analysis, stakeholder engagement, and force design activities across Defence, working closely with VCDF Group and Land Capability Division. Key Responsibilities Support implementation of the 2026 Integrated Investment Program (IIP) and associated force design outcomes Act as a key interface between VCDF Group and Land Capability Division (LCD) Deliver capability analysis and advice to support Defence decision-making Contribute to Integrated Capability Assessment (ICA) activities across Army and Defence Assist in development and implementation of the Army Gaps and Opportunities System Engage stakeholders to identify and manage gaps, risks, and issues Provide specialist advice to working groups and senior stakeholders Support resolution of delivery obstacles to ensure outcomes are achieved Collaborate with ADF, APS, and contractor personnel Manage workload and provide updates to the Project Manager Skills and Experience Experience in military concepts, strategy, and capability development Understanding of Joint Concepts Framework, Defence Strategy Framework, and Capability Life Cycle Exposure to Integrated Investment Program (IIP) and ICA processes Knowledge of Defence requirements development Understanding of Defence finance and procurement frameworks Background in project management and/or systems engineering Strong Defence-style writing and briefing skills High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Key Attributes Ability to operate across strategy, capability, and delivery environments Strong stakeholder engagement skills (EL1 / 1 Star level) Analytical mindset with ability to translate strategy into outputs Self-motivated and effective in complex environments Desirable Experience within Force Design, VCDF Group, or Army Headquarters Exposure to capability planning and investment decision-making Prior ADF or Defence consulting experience
